What's on the Horizon?

VIC-3D® has been the premier eddy-current NDE modeling tool for 35 years. Moving forward, we are planning to include even more exciting features:
3-D inversion
VIC-3D® will include two different 3-D inversion algorithms, the "set theoretic," and the "algebraic reconstruction technique," which will allow the user to perform "voxel-based" inversions. No longer will the practitioner have to rely on teams of analysts, pondering the mysteries of a differential-bobbin Lissajous figure, hoping to glean tidbits about the flaw that produced the figure. One user, acting alone, will be able to invert the impedance data directly to reconstruct an image of the flaw, and make a much more intelligent decision about it.
Generalized curvilinear coordinates
VIC-3D® will gain the capability to model any arbitrarily-shaped workpiece and flaw, given a suitable spline representation of it from a CAD file, through the use of a generalized curvilinear coordinate system. Everything from curved turbine blades through rocket exhaust nozzles will be able to be modeled.
Features you desire
Surely you have other ideas that would enhance VIC-3D®. Why not send them to us?
